Black Wall Street Nevada: Ownership Is the New Freedom.

Building Community Wealth Through Cooperative Ownership.

Where It Began

Long before there was a word for it, communities shut out of traditional capital were already building their own systems of ownership. Immigrant mutual aid societies. Farmer cooperatives. Credit unions born from necessity, not permission. And among them, historic Black business districts — Black Wall Streets — that proved what a community could build when it pooled what it had and answered only to itself.

These weren’t isolated stories. They were the same idea, arriving again and again, wherever a community needed a door that wouldn’t open on its own.

Black Wall Street Nevada takes its name, and its inspiration, from that legacy and carries it forward for every Nevadan the traditional system has left standing outside.

An Old Method, Still Needed

The obstacles that gave rise to cooperative economics didn’t disappear with time. They simply changed shape.

Underserved communities across Nevada BIPOC entrepreneurs, low-to-moderate income families, and small business owners without generational capital behind them still face a lending system built to favor those who least need it. Wealth, for many, was never a matter of effort. It was a matter of access.

The answer isn’t asking people to work harder inside a system that wasn’t built for them. It’s building a system that was.

The Gap That Remains

The obstacles our ancestors organized against didn’t disappear. They changed shape.

Redlining may be illegal, but its map still shapes who gets approved for a loan and who doesn’t. BIPOC entrepreneurs remain far more likely to be denied business financing and far more likely to be offered worse terms when they aren’t. Generational wealth, built for some through decades of homeownership and business equity, was systematically withheld from others.

The result is a wealth gap that isn’t a statistic to us.
It’s the reason a talented entrepreneur can’t get the capital to open their doors.
It’s the reason a family can’t invest in the property next door.
It’s the reason “the system” so often means someone else’s system.

Nevada’s BIPOC entrepreneurs deserve more than being told to work harder inside a system that was never built for them.

They deserve a system built by them.

A New Chapter, Same Foundation

This is where Black Wall Street Nevada begins.

We didn’t set out to recreate a museum piece. We set out to build a modern, functioning answer to an old injustice. One rooted in the same principle that built the original Black Wall Street: when a community owns its economy, it controls its future

Our Mission

Creating Pathways to Economic Mobility

Our mission is to increase economic mobility and community wealth by developing cooperatives, supporting small businesses, expanding entrepreneurship, and strengthening communities through shared ownership and collaboration.

We believe cooperative economics creates pathways to financial stability, business ownership, and long-term prosperity for underserved communities while helping close longstanding racial wealth gaps.

Our Vision

A Nevada Where Communities Own Their Future

A Nevada where every community has equitable access to business ownership, quality jobs, affordable housing, financial opportunity, and community-controlled economic development.

We envision thriving Black communities where cooperative enterprises contribute to economic mobility, neighborhood revitalization, and intergenerational wealth creation while strengthening the broader Nevada economy.

This Is Bigger Than Us

We are not a program. We are not a promise. We are a community-built institution. Accountable to the people we serve, guided by the legacy we come from, and focused entirely on one outcome: Nevadans owning their piece of the future.

This is bigger than any one business, loan, or workshop. This is a movement toward collective ownership. And it only works if we build it together.
